Different Ways to Follow Someone on LinkedIn
When you follow a LinkedIn user, you can build a closer relationship with them. LinkedIn will show you the content they’ve posted, career growth, interests, and updates shared on LinkedIn. Here are different ways to follow people on LinkedIn.
Method #1: Through their profile
You can follow someone on LinkedIn by clicking the Follow button on their profile. You can do this through the app or browser.
To do this on the LinkedIn app, follow these steps:
- Launch your LinkedIn app.
- Click on their username to access their profile.
- Tap the “+Follow” button next to the Messages tab.
- If you don’t see the Continue button, click the More button (three dots).
- Select “+Follow”. If you don’t see the “+ Follow” option, click “Connect.”
- You will follow them when you press the “Connect” button.
You can also do this using a browser on your computer:
- Go to LinkedIn and enter your login information to access your account.
- Find the user you want to follow and open their profile.
- Click the “+Follow” button just above the “About” section.
- If you don’t see a “+ Follow” button, click “More.”
- Click on the “+Continue” option.
- If you don’t see the “+ Follow” button, click “Connect.” You may fail to see “+Continue” if the connection is third-degree.
- Click Send to send the invitation.
- Note: Once you click Connect on someone else’s LinkedIn profile, you automatically follow them. You will have access to all updates that are published on the platform.
Method number 2: News feed
If you scroll down to your LinkedIn homepage, you’ll see that you can follow people using the “+ Follow” button next to their username. However, some people (who have earned the title of influencer on LinkedIn) have a “+Follow” button on their profile. So, use this method if you are planning to follow a LinkedIn user with an influential title.
Method number 3: through the search button
Use the search bar to contact and follow someone on LinkedIn. LinkedIn’s search bar is a great tool that LinkedIn users can use to expand their professional network.

- Open your application.
- Go to the search icon on the home page.
