Instagram is the best social media platform to sell your products. With Shopify, you can easily set up your store on Instagram and start selling in just a few clicks.
Since many people know about it but it is difficult to set it up, we often face the question of how to do it.
As an entrepreneur, Instagram is one of the best places to run your business. With over 800 million monthly active users, Instagram helps businesses get more customers.
Shopify offers an easy way to create your store and sell on Instagram. It is a leading e-commerce platform with 500,000 stores in 190 countries around the world.
Step-by-step guide on how to sell on Instagram using Shopify
Instagram Shopping is a new tool for small businesses that sell goods but have a small following. Unlike the past, you can now use Instagram to post links and drive traffic to your product page. Instagram Shopping allows you to do this and gives you the option to label items as an image.
Users can easily search for items by clicking on images to open the online store and allow users to purchase. But before you can apply to sell on Instagram using Shopify, you must meet certain conditions.
The most important requirement is that your company must sell physical goods. Your Instagram account must be a business profile linked to your Facebook company page.
If you meet the approval request requirements, the approval process will take 2 to 3 days. Here are the steps to get a verified Instagram store.
Step #1: Set up a Facebook Business account.
A Facebook Business account is an essential tool that helps you manage your store for both Facebook and Instagram.
To start setting up your Facebook Business account, open your web browser, go to Business.facebook.com and click “Create Account.”
Use your Shopify store name and the email you used to sign up to create an account.
Click Next, fill in your store details, then click Submit when you’re done.
You will receive a confirmation email that you need to verify at the email you just used to register.
Step 2: Link your Facebook page to your business account.
The next thing is to link the store’s Facebook page to your newly created business account.
You can do this on the Business Settings page. But the store must already have a Facebook page. If not, go to your Facebook account and create a new page with the name of the store.
So, to access the Business Settings page, click More Tools and Ads Manager on the Business Suite page.
Check the top right corner for the hamburger icon and click on it. You will see “Business Settings”.
On the Business Settings page, click the Pages button on the right sidebar.
Finally, click Add Page, type the name of the page, and press Enter to confirm.
Step #3: Link your Instagram account to Business Manager.
Remember we said earlier that your IG account must be a business account. So make sure you enable it before linking it to your business manager.
To do this, open the Instagram app, go to your profile, tap Settings, then tap Account. Finally, scroll down and click “Switch to Pro Account.”
After switching to your Instagram Business account, you can return to the Business Manager settings page.
Check the right sidebar for the “Instagram Accounts” button and click on it. A pop-up window appears asking you to “Link your professional account.” Click on it and log in to your IG account.
Step #4: Set up a Facebook sales channel on Shopify.
If you want to sell on Instagram using Shopify, you need to set up your sales channel on Facebook.
To do this, you need to log into your Shopify dashboard and click on the plus sign next to Sales Channel. Scroll down to Facebook, then click the plus sign at the front to take you to your Facebook channel dashboard.
In your Facebook channel dashboard, click “Start Setup” in the Facebook Store.
Next, click “Link Account” and log in to your personal Facebook account to connect to your Shopify account.
After granting Shopify access to your business on Facebook, the next thing is to reach out to your business manager. Click on the drop-down menu and select your store name.
You should also create a pixel by adding your Facebook page. The last thing you should link to sell on Instagram is your Facebook Commerce account.
Click Review Terms, then click Accept Terms. Finally, click “Finish Setup” to connect Shopify to your Facebook Store.
Step #5: Set up your Instagram sales channel on Shopify.
This is the final step in selling on Instagram with Shopify, and you can do it directly in your Shopify dashboard.
Click on the completed Facebook Shop, and you will see the Instagram Shop option. Click “Start Setup” or “Continue Setup” if you have already started it. Make sure you have connected all necessary accounts.
All options will have a green check mark, which means you have provided all the required data.
Finally, click “Request Approval” at the bottom of the page.
It may take a few days, even two or three days to get your store approved. But once you are approved, you will now have a storefront on Instagram and be able to sell on the platform.
Final Words
If you follow the steps we discussed above, you will have an Instagram-certified Shopify store.
This can increase your sales, making it easier for customers to purchase your products with just a few clicks.
Once you complete the process and get approved, you can start selling on Instagram using Shopify.
